Alex Moreno, Executive Chef
Executive Chef Alex Moreno started out right here in Los Angeles, launching his career at some of the best restaurants in the city. Learning from such LA institutions as Melisse, Jiraffe, Spago and Bastide, he then took to the road as chef for Van Halen. After a year of touring with the legendary rock band, lead vocalist Sammy Hagar recruited Alex to be part of the culinary team opening up San Francisco-based Tres Agaves. Building a reputation for authentic food which held to the tradition of the Jalisco region of Mexico, Alex received accolades as a great cook in one of the best modern Mexican restaurants in the city.
Chef Alex has come back home to establish CASA as one of the few modern Mexican restaurants in the city that is focused on paying tribute to LA's great neighborhood taquerias. Alex is literally making CASA his home to showcase his technique, knowledge and passion that has been refined abroad, but originated from what he calls "the best food city in the country—LA."
